Fix Problems with Weather app on Apple Watch

Widgets Not Working After iOS Download or Update
After downloading iOS 10, the device starts and we navigate to the widgets lock screen. But we discover that our widgets is completely blank…nothing..nada. Most of our widgets are blank, not anywhere near the content rich experience we see in the Apple Picture above.

With the default Weather app on your Apple Watch, you can immediately know the current temperature, future forecast, and avoid the hassle of looking it up on a laptop or iOS device.
While this application performs really well most of the time, some users recently reported a few problems with it.

- Restart your Apple Watch
- Unpair both devices and then re-pair them
- Enable Airplane Mode and disable it after 10 seconds
No Location in the Weather app
I asked Siri on my Apple Watch to check for the weather. Unfortunately, she wasn’t able to identify my current location. If this happens to you, try the solution below.
- Go to the Settings app
- Navigate to Privacy > Location Services
- Turn this feature on
If that still doesn’t work, try connecting to a different Wi-Fi network. Sometimes, the internet connection wasn’t strong enough for Apple Watch to detect your location.
Spinning dots or Cannot Retrieve Any Data
Step 1: Open Apple Watch app > My Watch > Weather > Default City
Step 2: Set it to Current location or the city of your choice.
Step 3: Try to delete the cities you have on the weather app and reload them.
By deleting and reloading, some users have found that the information is correctly synced and displayed on the watch.
Hate the default Weather app?
No worries, you still have a few more options to choose from. One of the most popular apps in this category is the Dark Sky. This app gives you the current weather, daily hi/low and sunrise sunset times in a nice looking interface.
Weather Widgets Not Working
If your weather widget is empty, please make sure that you have the location services turned on. Tap on your Settings > Privacy > Location Services . Turn on the toggle for location services. Without this, the weather widget does not show any information on your lock screen.
News Widgets Not Working
If you have the News widget on your lock screen and it is showing up blank like the picture above, Go to Settings > Notifications. Choose to allow Notifications and Set the Show on Lock Screen to ON. If you are using News for the first time, make sure to open the app and choose your channels.
All Widgets Not Working
A strange but true tip that seems to work for a lot of folks is toggling “Bold Text” in the Display & Brightness setting.
Another oddball tip is to go to your regional settings and change your language and then change it back (I switch from U.S. English to Canadian English and back again). This tip has worked each time to repopulate the widgets.
Widgets Still Not Working
Once you have explored the notification settings of the widgets, Press the home button and wake/sleep button for 10 seconds or so and let your iDevice restart. Restarting the device often fixes your widget content problem in iOS 10+.
